A group of young men came together to advance the development of their community

It was a gathering of families members, in-laws, friends and well wishers to promote oneness in a community for progress. The event took place on the 30th, December 2022, the first of it kind in Umuduruchukwu, Umuocha, Ikenbara autonomous community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State. A group of younger generation who dimmed it fit to bring the people of Umuocha together to advance the oneness and the unity of their community.
The youth President of Ikenbara autonomous community, honorable Uchechukwu Godson Aka, who chaired the occasion in excitement praising the organizers while thanking God Almighty been a witness appreciating the honor done to him.
“It is good for people to know where they come from, I am very happy today as the chairing this special occasion and I give kudos to the organizers, the CSO and the entire Umuduruchukwu kindred for this big honor and I appreciate” he said.
One of the organizers of the special occasion Mr. Chidi Agu, a young philanthropist has this to say.
“God has been kind to us and he is the one who imparts wisdom and we give him all the Glory for the success of this program. When God show you love, mercy and bless you do same to others remember your people. Most of us go to other communities when invited and assist in the development other community, we have decided to come home to support and develop our community and I am happy been part of this program and I advice members of this kindred to join hands in building the young ones and I pray that subsequent edition of the program will be bigger and better” he said
Mr. Michael Udobueze Ekemezie the chairman, home and abroad, Umuduruchukwu kindred Umuocha, Ikenbara autonomous Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State Nigeria. Udobueze told Tentacle Magazine how it all started and the reason behind the program.
“What you are witnessing here today is that we are having a get together and end of the year party with members of our kindred Umuduruchukwu Umuocha Ikenbara autonomous Community in Ikeduru. It is the first of its kind in our community and to be honest I am very very excited it is happening in my tenure, we are thanking God for his mercy over us his children and making this day a huge success for the organizers, the sons and daughters of our community and our invited guess who grace this occasion celebrating with us”,
“This is one of the things we have long for to achieve all the while to boast the mind of some of our brothers and sisters who have not been identified with us to have a rethink, come forth and join us to make our place Umuocha a light to other communities around us, also, we call on our brothers home and abroad to join force with us as we will be coming out with a program called Human Capital Development (HCD) which is aim at raise and supporting the younger ones, the youths to be useful to themselves, the Community, Nigeria and the world at large. Our mission is to bring peace, progress and brotherhood to our community as our slogan says (Onye Ayala Nwanneyia) meaning (do not leave your brother behind) bringing everyone together” he concludes.
As the event come to an end, the organizers distributed gift of wrappers to the women, envelope containing cash while promising those willing to learn hand work or trade to indicate their interest.
