The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been overwhelmed by the insecurity situation in the country despite the re-jigging of the security apparatus

When he was campaigning to become the president of the country, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu specifically in one of his campaign trips to Niger State told his followers that he is going make insecurity a thing of the past by re-jigging the security apparatus of the country.
In his few weeks in the saddle of piloting the affairs of the country, President Tinubu was seen seemingly working the talk by changing all the Service Chiefs. But the changes he made have not been able to impact positively on the security of people and their properties. Instead the non state actors are being emboldened on daily basis.
The emboldening of the non state actors found expression in the allegation that the Federal Government engaged in dangerous negotiation with bandits in Zamfara State last September. The governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal cried to the world that the administration of President Tinubu had engaged the bandits who kidnapped scores of students in the state in negotiation, an allegation which the Federal Government has vehemently denied. Beyond the denial lies the fact that insecurity has taken a life of its own in the administration of President Tinubu.
Few weeks after he was sworn-in as the president of the country, citizens of Plateau State were being mowed down on daily basis by bandits who are still at large as at time of filing this report. As mourning appears to be the signature of citizens of Plateau, the Nigerian Army had recorded scores of deaths in the President Tinubu three months in the saddle of the affairs of the country. In Niger State scores of soldiers were ambushed by the terrorist and killed.
In Imo state, life is hellish no thanks to the activities of the unknown gun. In retaliation the Nigerian Military forces have descended heavily on the group but the innocent people who have been causalities of the bloodletting attrition between security operatives and the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. It appears the number of the unknown gun men who have been mowed down by the security operatives is insignificant compared to the innocent people who have been killed in the process. In all the south eastern part of the country insecurity has taken front burner since the current administration took over the mantle of leadership.
It was gathered that since Tinubu took over as the president of the country, more innocent citizens have either been killed by bandits or kidnapped for ransom despite assurance by the President Tinubu’s administration that the bloodletting by the terrorists is going to be a thing of the past. A security expert who does not want his name on print told this medium that insecurity is serious matter, and for the government of the day to make impact in this regard the previous approach should be changed. “It appears the whole security apparatus have been infiltrated by the terrorist, bandits and what have you, the main reason they are also a step ahead of the security operatives in the country”, opined the security expert.
The security expert said that the welfare of the security operatives must be taken seriously if the government of the day is going to make any impact on arresting insecurity in the country. He said that if the welfare of the security officers are not guaranteed, there is no way they are going to put in their best in fighting terrorist, bandits and other social miscreants in the country.
Investigation monitored by this medium revealed that the number of deaths recorded since life span of the five months that President Tinubu has been on the saddle appears to be on the high side. The number of kidnapped citizens is steadily increasing across the country, and there is nothing the security operatives could do to arrest the situation.
