NPA Executive Director Commends Tincan Island Port Manager

The rehabilitation of the Tincan Island Port Administrative Building under its current Port Manager, Mr Sylvester Ogede, has received commendation from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The commendation came from the NPA Executive Director (ED) in charge of Engineering and Technical Services, Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar.

Engineer Umar who paid a working visit to the Tincan Island Port recently expressed satisfaction at the quality of work that had been done in the rehabilitation of the Tincan Island Port Administrative Building. During the visit, Engr. Umar poured praises on the Port Manager of the Tincan Island Port, Mr Ogede, describing him as an astute administrator and manager who understands how to apply the scarce resources available to him to achieve remarkable result.

According to Engr. Umar, the rehabilitation of the Tincan Island Port Administrative Building by Mr Ogede, apart from being desirable, the work done on the building so far is a top notch on account of the quality of materials used in the rehabilitation, as well as the speed with which the rehabilitation was carried out.

Speaking during the working visit, to the port under Ogede’s watch, Engr Umar who enthused that he was impressed by the smoothness of the rehabilitation, promised to ensure that additional air conditioners, and befitting furniture required to make the new Conference Hall of the building a masterpiece and conducive for meetings and conferences, would be provided for Tincan Island Port.

Also, Engr. Umar pledged to ensure that every other material support needed to ensure that the Administrative Building would assume a new look and status that are respectable, would be made available to the Port Manager to enable him complete the rehabilitation in record time.

The working visit of the NPA Executive Director in charge of Engineering and Technical Services took him to inspecting all the floors on the building, as he expressed satisfaction on what he saw on ground. Speaking during the visit, the Tincan Island Port Manager, Ogede who had earlier conducted the ED round the Administrative Building and pointed out that additional air conditioners and furniture were needed in the new Conference Hall, also thanked Engr. Umar for pledging the NPA support to provide the needed items.
