Comptroller Kayode Kolade, who is reckoned among the finest officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), assumed office on the 25th of January 2023 at the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone C of the Nigeria Customs Service covering South East and South-South Regions which include Bayelsa, Port Harcourt 1 and 2, Edo, Delta, Cross River and Akwa Ibom.
He was enlisted into the Superintendent Cadre of the Nigeria Customs Service in 1989, he has made tremendous progress by rising from one rank to another and recently to the rank of Comptroller of Customs.
Comptroller Kolade has attended many courses as Nigeria Customs representative both locally and internationally on enforcement of Government Fiscal policy and Revenue collection. He has also worked in various customs formations and units in different capacities.
Since his arrival to the FOU Zone C Owerri, based on his track records in revenue and anti-smuggling exploits in the past one year it has not been business as usual for economic saboteurs who ply their trade within Zone C operational coverage.
A comprehensive compilation of seizures made by the command under this cerebral anti-smuggling czar within the period are worth over N5 billion in total Duty Paid Value (DPV) in 2023 fiscal year.

Comptroller Kolade is a recipient of many Awards in recognition of his outstanding achievements. A commendation letter for outstanding performance in anti-smuggling operations from the Comptroller General of Customs Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) in 2017, while he was the coordinator of CGC Strike Force Team Zone ‘C’ covering the South-South/South-East States can attest to that.
