Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman move into the fast lane in their football career; while Ndidi rejected a new contract for Leicester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are chasing after Lookman

Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is edging closer to his exit from the club as he has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from his club.

The Foxes recently appointed Steve Cooper as their manager after Enzo Maresca moved on to Chelsea following Mauricio Pochettino’s sack.

Soccernet.ng had reported that Cooper is ready to delve into the transfer market to bring players to the club, but was waiting on Ndidi’s decision, whether he’d be staying at the King Power Stadium or not.

As per Caught Offside, the 27-year-old versatile midfielder has rejected another contract offer from Leicester City, seemingly making his mind up to leave the club as his current deal expires in three days.

The Nigeria international was an integral part of Leicester’s journey as they returned to the English Premier League from the Champion- ships. Unless there’s a change in the next three days, he’ll be the second Super Eagles player to exit the King Power Stadium this season after Kelechi Iheanacho confirmed he won’t continue at the club last month.

Ndidi has a plethora of options, with offers from Olympique de Marseille, Aston Villa, Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, Everton, Atletico de Madrid and Barcelona sitting on the table of the former Genk midfielder.

The anchor man wants to return to the top level and seeks to play with a club Ndidi participating in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Steve Cooper and Leicester City will now have to plan for life without Ndidi who joined the Foxes from Genk in 2017.

Two-time UEFA Champions League champions, Chelsea, have joined Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the pursuit of Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman.

Ahead of next season, the Blues have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham, whilst agreeing deals with Aston Villa’s Omari Kellyman, Barcelona’s Marc Guiu and Palmerias’ Estêvão Willian as they look to usher in a fresh era under Enzo Maresca. However, the two-time UEFA Europa League champions are still in the transfer market for attackers and have been linked with Jhon Duran, Crysencio Summerville, Sam Omorodion, and Michael Olise, but the Crystal Palace winger has already agreed terms with Bayern Munich.

According to Italian outlet, Calciomercato, Chelsea are interested in the services of Lookman and are willing to pay up to £60m for the Nigerian. However, they face stiff competition from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich for the services of the 26-year-old.

Lookman has emerged the Atalanta Player of the Season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Bergamo-based side had a season to remember both in the continent and domestic scene.

Atalanta qualified for 2 finals with the Nigerian International playing an active role in the campaign.

He was instrumental to Atalanta winning the UEFA Europa League beating Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the final. The club on Thursday announced Lookman as the Player of the Season for the club.
