A faction of the Labour Party (LP) loyal to Julius Abure, the embattled National Chairman, has alleged how Peter Obi used Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Aisha Yesufu, Akin Osumtokun, Itua Ighodalo, and others to defraud the party. At a recent press briefing in Ogun State, Dr Abayomi Arabambi, a chieftain of the party, called on the National Security Adviser (NSA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Aisha Yesufu and Itua Ighodalo for embezzlement, misappropriation and possible terrorism financing.
Arabambi said, “The attention of Labour party National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of Barr Julius Abure, National Chairman, and Alh Farouk Umar Ibrahim, National Secretary has been drawn to unguarded comments made against the party leadership by irresponsible, irreparable, irredeemable arsonist Mrs. Aisha Yesufu while trying to defend her involvement in the criminal conspiracy and diversions funds in Labour Party’s presidential campaign account.
“Aisha Yesufu admittance as one of the Signatories involved in the criminal conspiracy over the disbursement of Labour Party’s presidential fund , up loads of agents and payments of agents fees has further rendered her already torn banner of political relevance into tattered shreds with their very reckless clandestine spending under the instruction of that desperate political merchant who the mannerless Yesufu sees as her leader and political guide in their collective stupidity rushing head long into their joint political ruins with an ungrateful Sen Ireti Kingibe who was made a senator of the Federal Republic by Barr Julius Abure and Alh Farouk Umar Ibrahim with a paltry sum of N500,000.
“It is obvious Labour Party manage under the grossly incompetent and manifestly corrupt Saint Mr Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi , Aisha Yesufu, Itua Ighodalo, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Akin Osuntokun and Sola Ebiseni has already conceded defeat to the APC in 54,306 pooling units across the country, a sort of Christian wake keep for LP presidential mandate.
Our party therefore requests the National Security Adviser and EFCC to investigate the accounts for terrorism financing, incitement, fraud impersonation, felony and anarchy and if found culpable should be arrested and charge to court in line with Section 251 (2) & (3) which provides thus: The Federal High Court shall have and exercise jurisdiction and powers in respect of treason, treasonable felony and allied offences”.
His eminence, Obi is yet to respond to the allegation, he has 
said that he was ready to become a Vice President if given the opportunity.
Obi, the former LP presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State, stated his openness to accepting a vice-presidential position if he finds someone more capable of advancing the country than himself.
During a recent interview with New Central TV, which was monitored on YouTube, Obi emphasized that his primary focus is on ensuring Nigeria moves forward in the 2027 general election.
When asked if he would consider being a vice-presidential candidate, Obi said, “Obi said: “Quite frankly, for me, I’m not desperate to be Nigerian president. I am desperate to see Nigeria work. If I see people who can do the work better, I will (consider being Vice President).
“I even have people who say I should not come out in 2027 and I said to them, offer yourself. And we will not put everybody on a scale.”
Obi reaffirmed his loyalty to the LP, though remains open to working with others who share his vision for the country.
“I will stay with the Labour Party. However, if anyone seeks collaboration or alliance, they must clearly state their objectives. I am not interested in joining forces for political gain or to merely win an election. What matters to me is addressing crucial issues like getting every child into school and tackling the problem of out-of-school children,” Obi explained.
