Comptroller Chedi Wada takes over as Customs Area Controller (CAC), Port-Harcourt Area 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Rivers State, preaching peace, love, good conduct and professionalism

Comptroller Ibrahim Muhammad has handed over the Port-Harcourt Area 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to Comptroller Wada Chedi, a thorough-bred and non nonsense enforcement officer.

Comptroller Wada, who handed over to  his successor Comptroller Musa Nurudeen in Kastina Command is known to be an anti- smuggling czar, a guru when it comes to implementing government fiscal policy and enforcement, also known to be intelligent with fresh ideas in revenue collection, trade facilitation and anti smuggling operations.

Comptroller Wada, An uncompromising and exemplary customs officer, stands tall in his career wherever he finds himself as he has also replicated remarkable feat wherever he was posted. Accordingly, he takes the welfare of officers and men under his charge very dear.

During the handover ceremony, Comptroller Wada told men and officers of the Command to conduct themselves at all time, he informed them of how small the world is and working in the Nigeria Customs Service is like working in a family.

“I have worked with many of the officers and men I am seeing here today in one command, department and unit or the other of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in peace even the outgoing Controller, Comptroller Ibrahim Muhammad”.

He harped on professionalism and code of conduct reminding officers of the Seven Cs of the NSC and to leave in peace with one another while being focused on their duty.

“The only problem I will have with any officer is when you don’t prove yourself to be a professional on your area of duty, I will not be happy with whosoever does not show act of professionalism on his or her duty”, he said.

He urged men and officers of the Service under his Command to conduct themselves at all times and act according to Customs modus operandi while wishing the outgone Comptroller Muhammad success in his new posting.
