In Nigeria, justice is in flight. In most cases those who approached Court for justice ended up getting judgment that would dislocate this rational thinking but force them to believe that our judiciary is not corrupt but rascal in adjudication. The rascality of the five Justices of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, PEPT confirming the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has further created more problems that it had tended to solve. In the 12 hours judgment, the five justices were seen defending the defendants, All Progressives Congress, APC in a petition brought against it by the duo of the Labour Party, LP and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the victory of the former candidate at the 2023 presidential election.
The natives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja appear to be the greatest beneficiaries of the rascality if the Justices if the Supreme Court would uphold the judgment that the FCT is a state in Nigeria. Already there are concerted efforts of the natives to approach the Supreme to order the Federal Government of Nigeria to conduct governorship and other necessary elections which other states in the country enjoy. The legal fireworks that would trail the pronouncement of PEPT in this regard is the focus of the cover story that is anchored by Miracle Egbo in this edition.
