The newly appointed spokesman for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ikechukwu Onyemekara expresses delight and enthusiasm at his appointment and promises to contribute his experience and expertise in polishing the public image of the Authority, even as he expresses a heartfelt gratitude to the management of the NPA
The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Abubakar Dantsoho, has appointed Ikechukwu Onyemekara, as the new head of its Corporate and Strategic Communications Department. Onyemekara, a renown Public Relations Manager with decades of experience in Corporate Communications will head the Corporate and Strategic Unit of the Authority.
According to a statement on the official X account of the authority, formally Twitter, titled, “Rejig as NPA Appoints New General Manager,” the NPA boss also announced redeployment of the acting spokesperson of the agency, Pastor Serah Bala to head a division in the authority.
The MD, however, stated that the appointment was to reposition the authority for greater efficiency and renewed contribution to the nation’s economy.
“In a move geared towards repositioning Nigeria’s foremost trade facilitation platform for greater efficiency and renewed contribution to the national economy, the Nigerian Ports Authority has announced new appointments and redeployments of General Managers to support the Dr. Abudantsoho-led Management in actualizing it’s performance deliverables.
“Speaking after the announcement, Dantsoho who comes to the job with decades of sector-specific experience having commenced his career at the NPA as a Youth Corp member said “these appointments represent our deliberate strategy to deploy the wealth of experience of the appointees to national advantage”.
“The appointments which take immediate effect reorganized some Divisions to align with the direction of the Federal Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy retained Dr (Mrs) Chinwe Nwokolo, Pharmacist Hadiza Sani and Mr. Babatunde Gbotolorun as General Managers Medical, Abuja Liasion and ICT Divisions respectively.
“The new appointees named to head various Divisions include Captain Jerome Angyunwe, Engr. Richard Unde, Engr. Mukhtar Isa, Mr. Anthony Edosomswan, Mr. Dapo Adekunle, Mr. Victor Gofwan, Mr. Rabiu Dambatta, Mrs Priscilla Maduka, Mrs Sarah Ballah, Mrs Zainab Dantiye, Engr. Anas Suleiman, Mr. Adeayo Oni, Mr. Abdulkadir Gusau Mr. RAB Salau, Barr. Nurrudeen Abdulkadir, Mr. Seyi Iyawe, Barr. Ethel Uduehi, Barr. Nansel Zhimwan, Barr. Ahmad Wanka, Mr. Fatai Oladapo, Mr. Ibrahim Lukman, Engr. Abdul Isah, Mr. Charles Okaga and Mr. Ikechukwu Onyemekara who will assume the role of the Authority’s image maker as General Manager Corporate & Strategic Communications Division.
