Deacon Chinedu Ikenga and others extol Ndoni women on their Thanksgiving and Award event

It was a gathering of prominent sons and daughters of Ndoni Community in Ogba Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State as the Ndoni Women Association rolled out the drums in honour of their illustrious sons and daughters, who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavor and contributed to the development of the Community as they were presented with Awards of honor.
The event which took place at the Model Secondary Tombia Street at the Government Reserved Area (GRA) Phase 2 Port Harcourt, was chaired by a prominent son of the Community and business mogul, Deacon Chinedu Ikenga.
The occasion was graced by dignitaries from all walks of life which include the Rivers State Commissioner for housing, Engineer Benebo Anabraba who incidentally is a son in-law of the community.
The event was used to lunch a N50 million fund for the purchase of a coaster bus to ease the transport challenge faced by the association.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the occasion, Deacon Ikenga, a guru in the maritime sector, who contested for the Chairmanship of the association of Nigeria License Customs Agents (ANLCA) Onne Sea Port Chapter, a man with the spirit of sportsmanship, expressed his appreciation to the Ndoni Women Association for finding him worthy to chair a gathering of such magnitude of respected sons and daughters of Ndoni people, and maintained that he was humbled by the respect and confidence reposed in him, assuring the Ndoni Women that he will not let them down but will continue to support them in achieving their programes and goals.
The Director General of Rivers State Pension Board, Elder Ijeoma Samuel who was also honoured commended the women for embarking on the program that will positively imparts on the community while using the opportunity to thank them for finding him worthy of the award.
In appreciation, the Chairperson of the 2025 thanksgiving of the Ndoni Women Association Port Harcourt branch, lady Philomena Eke revealed that the thanksgiving was a yearly event to show gratitude to God Almighty for keeping them and their families safe, hale and healthy to see yet another year while thanking all the those who find time out of their busy schedule to grace the event.
Some of the prominent sons and daughters who were honoured with awards includes, Sir, Dr. Peter Otunuya Odili, senator Ifeanyi Odili and Holy Prophetess Agnes Amanyi Okoh.
Others are Professor Henry Arinxe Ugboma, Elder Ijeoma Okechukwu Samuel and Chief Adobo Whyte as well as late Chief Anthony Enebeli Egobueze who bagged a posthumous award.
