Everywhere in the world underdogs are considered weak and vulnerable elements. Whenever they entered any contests, their opponents would be unwise to underestimate their strength because underdogs lack the capacity to pull strings, hence those with vast and visible strength would be haunted by overconfidence.
It was not by the strength of theirs that most underdogs surprised and defeated their strong opponents, rather when strong opponents swam in the euphoria of their overestimated energy and inflated ego and confidence, underdogs would pull surprises due to their steadfastness.
Again, nature knows how to be on the side of underdogs especially when they keep their peace, remain firm, calm, humble and unruffled in the face of larger-than-life challenging opponents. Thus most often, underdogs have come out of contests successful against their opponents.
This may likely be the case with the Rivers State governor Sim Fubara versus his larger-than-life challenger, Nyesom Wike who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Wike who has been waging the war against governor Fubara over the control of the financial resources of Rivers State, has all it can take to crush Fubara, including such powers as the support of President Bola Tinubu, the support of the manipulative judiciary, the support of the armed forces and paramilitary forces which are the symbol of the famed federal might.
Fubara is an orphan, at least politically, in the fierce battles he’s defending against the tough talking Wike. Wike might have won the war a long time ago, but underdogs are mostly lucky folks because of nature’s alliance with them due to their humility.
“Nobody can impeach Fubara” has become a common slogan in the lips of Rivers citizens who have been united in defending the underdog governor against the powers that be in Abuja.
As the war rages, Rivers State citizens have challenged Wike and his ill-fated 27 lawmakers to commence impeachment process against their beloved governor and see if the state will not go up in flames.
Even Abuja appears to be jittery over the threats emanating from the citizens of Rivers State to wit: nobody can impeach Fubara. Can Wike and his cahoots defeat a united Rivers State citizens? Time will tell.
