In its determination to eliminate crime and criminality, the Rivers State Police Command has announced the arrest of five kidnap suspects in parts of the state, who are linked to the killing of a Chief Security Officer of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium and his son in Omagwa and recovered several arms and ammunition

The Rivers State Police Command said it has arrested five suspected kidnappers of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Omagwa, where the CSO and his son were killed and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
A statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Grace Iringe-Koko, indicates that the arrests followed series of kidnapping incidents within the Rukpokwu, Igwuruta, Omagwa and Etche areas of Rivers State, which necessitated operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, acting on actionable intelligence, to carry out a coordinated operation on March 8, 2025.
The operations, according to her lasted for eight hours and resulted in the arrest of the following men: Mohammadu Bello (30) from Padiki Local Government Area, residing in Rukpokwu, Suleman Umar (26) from Hadeja Local Government Area of Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu.
Others are Bello Amadu (35) from Keffi-Hausa LGA of Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu and Adamu Musa (30) from Hadeja Local Government Area of Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu and Abubakar Mohammed (22) from Azare Local Government Area of Bauchi State, also residing in Rukpokwu in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The statement affirmed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to multiple kidnapping activities, including the killing of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Omagwa, where the CSO and his son were murdered in cold blood.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include two AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, 66 rounds of ammunition, three locally made pistols, 10 live cartridges and several mobile phones and SIM cards. The Police said the suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with investigations.
“Efforts are ongoing to uncover details of other crimes committed by the syndicate and to arrest others at large. The Rivers State Police Command assures the public of its unwavering commitment in ensuring the safety and security of all residents. Further updates on this investigation will be communicated in due course,” the statement reads.
