The National President of the Association of Nigeria License Customs Agents (ANLCA), Chief Emenike Nwokeji, and his vice, Prince Segun Odutan, have inaugurated what they tagged the Presidential Monitoring Task Force (PMTF), a committee charged with the responsibility to oversee and coordinate the affairs of the association in the Eastern Zone. The taskforce committee is to be chaired by the Chairman Emeritus Mr. Mike Ebeatu.

He charge the newly inaugurated committee members to demonstrate quality leadership, uphold the integrity of the association in the discharge of their duty in the interest of the members of the association.

Emenike advised the team to incorporate gender sensitivity to balance the equation as well as to enlighten the members on issues of quality leadership.

In his remarks Nwokeoji said, “I welcome all of you here today, this is the first phase of the inauguration of the presidential national committee members of our great association. The second phase will come later, we are here for restoration, to restore the image of our association, the prestige, the respect and position of the association”,

“We decided to set up few committees to take care of certain challenges, mind you the committees are not here to take the position of the elected excos, the Chairmen are incharge of the chapters of our association everywhere, they are elected and the constitution gives them the authority, the powers to corporate and supervise our affairs in those chapters”.

He sent warning signal to the newly appointed committee members, saying, “The biro we used in appointing the committees we kept aside and the same biro I would not want to use to desolve any committee that tries to raise dust where it is not necessary.

“We selected these committees as a support team, to work and cover area where necessary, I appeal to the committee to respect the position of the chapter executive and chapter members should receive them with open hands, the committee members are not here to compete with the executive but to compliment what you are doing to achieve a common goal and common purpose as there are many areas that are begging for attention and nobody is touching such areas”.

Mr Ebeatu, the immediate past Chairman of the Zone thanked the National President and his vice, adding , “On behalf of the appointed officers, we want to say thank you very much for the confidence you repose in us, and we appreciate you and pledge to you specially and specifically that we will do our best, work assiduously to improve and compliment the efforts of the Chapter Chairmen and come in where necessary, and we want to assure you that we will not disappoint. Also, we want to pledge to the members of the association that we will not fail, and that we are ready to work for you, we need your support and we want to assure you that you will be happy at the end of the day”.
