Customs Organise Aerobic Exercise

The Eastern Marine Command of Customs successfully organizes physical aerobics exercise powered by  Comptroller CC Dim in conjunction with the Association of Heads of Federal Government Establishments (AHFGE) Rivers State

The Eastern Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Command (NCS), the amphibious arm of the Customs in-charge of the Southern part of the country in Port-harcourt has successfully organized a monthly work-life balance and aerobic exercise in collaboration with the Association of Heads of Federal Government Establishments (AHFGE).

Accordingly, the Customs Area Controller, (CAC), Comptroller Chika Dim, said, “The aim of the work life balance is to promote physical well-being, team work, and camaraderie among participants”.

Comptroller Dim, also said, “The importance of physical fitness and work-life balance in accordance with the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) CGC, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, who kick started the exercise sometime last year is to encouraged participants to prioritize their health and well-being with an inherent benefits of good health and stress free-management.”

In her remark, the chairperson of the Association of Heads of Federal Government Establishment (AHFGE), Rivers state chapter, Mrs Ifeyinwa James ably represented by the vice chairman of the Association Mr. Abdul-Salami Babatunde, expressed her  appreciation to the Comptroller, Nigeria Customs Service (NSC), Eastern Marine Command, Comptroller CC Dim for the initiative and commitment.

She said, “The role of this initiative in achieving organizational goals through a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance cannot be wish away and I salute the courage of the Controller Eastern Marine Command (EMC) for his effort and appreciate everyone here”.

One could confirm that it was a resounding success with participants expressing appreciation for the initiative and commitment to promoting a healthy work environment. The Eastern Marine Command (EMC) of the Nigeria Customs Service and the Association of Heads of Federal Government Establishment (AHFGE) demonstrated their dedication to prioritize the well-being of their members and promote a positive work culture.

In his closing remark,  Comptroller DIM emphasize the essence of physical fitness that it is very important to healthy living “we decided to hold this exercise for serving personnel and others working in the federal government agencies here at the federal secretariat, we all understand that life is not all about work and work is not all about life there should be a balance between work and life, that is why we combine this two hours of aerobic exercise to talk, walk, dance and generally having fun, networking and socializing”, he said.
