The Rivers State Area 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) surpasses its half-year target by 65.3 percent

The Nigeria Customs Service Area 1 Port Harcourt Command said it has generated a total revenue of One Hundred and Forty One Billion, Six Hundred and Twenty One Million, Nine Hundred and One Thousand, One Hundred and Eleven Naira, Twenty kobo (N141,621,901,111.20) in the first half of 2025.
In a statement made available to Tentacle by the Command’s Public Relations officer, ASC Barilule Jane Aanee in Port Harcourt, the figure when compared to the revenue generated within the same period in the year 2024, which stood at One Hundred and Six Billion, Five Hundred and Ninety Three Million, Seven Hundred and Thirty Five Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty Nine Naira, Ninety One kobo (N106,593,735,469.91), is more by Thirty Five Billion, Twenty Eight Million, One Hundred and Sixty Five Thousand, Six Hundred and Forty One Naira, Twenty Nine kobo (N35,028,165,641.29), representing an increase 32.9 per cent.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller YM Hashim, said “It is important to note that the revenue collected in the months under review represents 65.3% of the total revenue target of the year 2025 which is N216.9 Billion and also exceeds the half year cumulative target of N108 Billion.”
Hashim noted that in terms of quarterly performance, the Command has generated fifty six billion, one hundred and fourteen million, four hundred and sixty one thousand, three hundred and fourteen naira, thirty six kobo (N56,114,461,314.36) in the first quarter and eighty five billion, five hundred and seven million, four hundred and thirty nine thousand, seven hundred and ninety six naira, eighty four kobo (N85,507,439,796.84) in the second quarter of 2025.
He added “This is in comparison to the forty three billion, six hundred and twenty five million, nine hundred and eighty six thousand, one hundred and sixty eight naira, forty kobo (N43,625,986,168.40) and sixty two billion, nine hundred and sixty seven million, seven hundred and forty nine thousand, three hundred and one naira, fifty one kobo (N62,967,749,301.51) realized in the first and second quarters of year 2024, respectively, indicates a quarterly increase of N12.49 billion in first quater and N22.54 billion in the second”.
The feat was made possible as a result of robust synergy between the critical stakeholders and other sister agencies.
He further stated “This revenue height was not without the cooperation of relevant stakeholders and sister agencies. Their continued support and cooperation contributed greatly to the Command’s efficient operations and revenue success“ he said.
Comptroller Hashim who appreciated the commitment of the officers and men of the Command also applauded other units from Nigeria Customs Service (NCS Headquarters whom according to him, contributed in blocking the revenue leakages, insisting that their hard work and dedication was instrumental to the achievement.
Comptroller Hassim extended his sincere gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and his management team for their unwavering support, he urges all stakeholders to remain compliant with customs regulations, and remain committed to building on this momentum for greater results.
