In its sustained raiding of criminal hideouts, the Lagos State Police Command arrest 26 suspects for fraudulent activities and other misconducts likely to cause breach of peace, as it celebrate women officers at 70

To keep pace with its zero-tolerance for criminality through a show of force movement and convoy patrol in its area of jurisdiction on daily basis, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 26 male suspects in connection with the possession of counterfeit currency and the production and sale of adulterated diesel to unsuspecting motorists in the Lekki axis of the state.
The suspects were apprehended on November 27, 2025 at 1330 hours in a joint operation with operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), during which ₦951,300 in counterfeit notes were recovered from their premises.
Preliminary investigations further revealed that Abubakar Rilean (40), Abubakar Abdullahi (35), Adamu Ibrahim Jora (35) and Michael John (30) were involved in the production and distribution of adulterated engine oil/diesel, popularly known as “rice and beans,” which they sell to unsuspecting and innocent motorists.
Additionally, Ichapi Moses (30) and Samson Adike (28) have been identified as the suppliers of the adulterated petroleum products to the area.
The Commissioner of Police (CP) Olohundare Jimoh, warns all malicious individuals and criminally minded persons across the state to desist from all forms of criminal activity, as the Command is intensifying efforts and closing in strongly on perpetrators. Anyone found engaging in acts capable of endangering public peace, damaging vehicles, or threatening economic stability will face the full weight of the law.
In a statement endorsed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed that CP Jimoh reassured residents that the Command remains firmly on top of the security situation in Lagos, saying, “The state is safe and there is no room for criminals or their unlawful activities. The safety and well-being of all residents remain the Command’s top priority.
“Members of the public are strongly advised to provide credible and timely information that can assist the police in apprehending criminals and preventing crime. Public cooperation remains essential to sustaining the peace and security for which Lagos State is known.
In a related development, as part of activities marking the Nigeria Police Women @ 70 celebration, female officers of the Lagos State Police Command paid courtesy visit to Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Florence Adebanjo (rtd), a recruit, who rose through the ranks to become Cadet Inspector, first female CP Western Port, Lagos and DIG Cecilia Adebisi Ugowe (rtd), a Cadet Inspector and first Force Secretary.
Adebisi affirmed that the visit was led by AC Administration, ACP Mary Ayim, while a team also visited Onike Girls Junior High School, Sabo, Yaba, where they conducted an outreach on self-awareness, mental health, career guidance, gender-based violence and confidence building.
A high point of the visit was the presentation of gifts to students and teachers of the school.
