Miracle seekers are warned against patronizing everyone in the garb of pastors and miracle workers to avoid being raped or scammed

The way these people calling themselves pastors are now operating nationwide is just scary. It is most unfortunate that most of the time when we hear cases of rape, fornication or pedophile, scam, it is either a pastor or any other servant of God that are usually involved. A Lot has been happening very fast in recent times with these end-time pastors and their fake prophecies.
For instance, in Ogun State, the state Police Command has arrested a pastor over allegations of issuing false prophecies, abducting a 21-years-old woman and subjecting her to prolonged sexual exploitation through spiritual threats and manipulations.
According to police findings, the suspect, a cleric associated with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, allegedly began manipulating the victim by claiming he received a divine revelation concerning her family.
Reports indicate that the pastor allegedly told the woman that her ailing sister would die if she refused to have sexual relations with him. He was also said to have warned her that she would die on her wedding day if she disobeyed his instruction.
These alleged prophecies reportedly created fear and confusion, making the victim believe that complying with him was the only way to prevent tragedy in her family.
In Edo State, the Founder of Royal Life of Christ Brethren Ministry, Bishop Gideon Osagie Osazee is in police net, over allegations of prolonged sexual abuse involving two sisters. (names withheld) who were minors at the time the incidents began.
The two sisters alleged that the abuse spanned several years, during which they claimed the Bishop exploited the trust established through religious and family connections. Both sisters alleged that the said Bishop subjected them to intimidation of oaths and threats to prevent them from speaking emotionally out. The victims said the prolonged abuse left them and psychologically distressed; adding that they eventually disclosed their experiences to a trusted family member who support, encouraged them to report the matter to seek assistance.
The elder of the two sisters who claims to be 21 said she was sleeping when the suspect had sexual intercourse with her. “I woke up and I saw that it was my pastor. That was how he took advantage of me. He over powered me. One day, he told the church that we would have a midnight deliverance service for me. That night, he made me to swear an oath not to reveal about the sexual encounter and said any man that had sex with me would be struck insider because he has a monitoring mirror” she stated.
Apart from the two sisters, four other girls have stepped out to testify that Bishop Osazee had sexual intercourse with them.
Edo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Eugene Abdullah who condemned the Bishop illicit love affairs said other children from the church have spoken out about sexual harassment from the suspect. She said the case would be handled over to the Criminal Investigation Department of Edo State Police Command for prosecution.
While in Ondo State, the state police command has arrested six men for allegedly posing as pastors and defrauding unsuspecting residents of Idanre Community in Idanre Local Government Area of the State with “staged miracles”.
The suspects were accused of exploiting the faith and vulnerabilities of residents by promising divine solutions to financial difficulties, health challenges and other personal problems, only to defraud them through false pretenses and related scams.
This was contained in a statement by the State Police Relation Officers, Mr. Jimoh Kazeem, identifying the suspects simply as Fadahunsi, Kalade, Iujani, Iyanuohiwa, Arijeruwa and Ademola.
According to the PPRO, the arrests followed an intelligence-driven operation conducted on February 10, 2026, by operatives of the command’s tactical teams in collaboration with the community safety officers, carried out a well-coordinated operation following credible information about the activities of a suspected fraud syndicate operating within Idanre and its environ.
“The operation led to the arrest of six suspects alleged to have organized and executed fraudulent schemes targeted at unsuspecting members of the public. Preliminary Investigations reveal that the suspects posed as pastors and religious leaders, staging fake miracles and spiritual interventions to gain the confidence and trust of their victims.”
The spokesperson added investigation showed the suspects operated in a coordinated manner assigning specific roles to members of the group to create what he described as a convincing and structured facade of legitimacy.
The police assured that “investigations are ongoing to ascertain the total number of victims, determine the financial magnitude of the fraud, and identify other collaborators who may still be at large.
Furthermore, the command urged members of the public to “exercise caution and due diligence warning residents against individuals who use religion, spirituality or claims of miracles as a cover for criminal activities.”
Meanwhile, Anambra State Government has vowed to take action against fraudulent religions leaders engaged in the sale of so called healing water, oils and other deceptive practices.
Speaking on the development, the state’s commissioner for information, Dr. Metor stated that the government will target fake prophecies, staged miracles and other dubious activities that exploit the public and promote crime on get-rich-quick scheme.
He further emphasized that the newly enacted Anambra State Homeland Security Law will not spare any individual or group involved in criminal activities, regardless of the religious guise under which they operate.
A pastor with Spiritual Kingdom Church of Christ (SKCC) Port Harcourt, Pastor James Uranta has condemned the rate at which men of God are involved in rape matters. He stated that counseling in secret promotes sexual harassment. Every form of counseling should be in the open, if the pastor has nothing to hide. In fact, let there be law or legislation banning secret counseling in churches, I’m sure if this is done, many of the pastors that called themselves will drop their robes and run away from God’s work; he said.
In Delta State, the Charismatic Sapele based preacher, once celebrated for miracle crusade that drew thousand, pastor Daniel Ololo is now in a big mess. The Founder of Omega Prophetic Ministries is facing allegations of preying on vulnerable female congregants, including the rape of 17 year-old minor and the coerced sexual exploitation of her two elder sisters.
Tentacle sources revealed that the scandal began when a petition reached the office of Delta State Commissioner of Police (CP) Abaniwonda Olugemi after the complaint alleged that the cleric used fake prophecies and spiritual blackmail to lure three sisters, who are active members of the church into repeated sexual assaults.
Meanwhile, some human right groups are calling for sweeping reforms including mandatory background checks for clergy internal church safeguarding systems and invoke legal penalties for religious leaders who happen to abuse spiritual authority.
The detained founder and lead pastor of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwangwalada, Abuja, Amos Isa, allegedly threatened to kill the 14-years-old girl he is accused of raping in the church auditorium, along with her family, if she speaks out or exposes him, family cries out.
Isa, the flamboyant and powerful dresser was arrested and detained by Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) over allegation of raping the minor.
