Comptroller Joe Anani takes over the mantle of leadership of the Ports and Terminal Mult-Services Limited (PTML) Customs Command, Apapa Lagos, promising to sustain the achievements of his predecessor, Assistant Comptroller General(ACG), Tenny Daniyan, in trade facilitation, revenue generation and fight against smuggling

Newly promoted Comptroller Joe Anani has taken over as the new Customs Area Controller(CAC)at the Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, Apapa Lagos, promising to build on the command’s existing successes in trade facilitation, revenue generation and in anti-smuggling performance.
He commended his predecessor, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Tenny Mankini Daniyan, for the achievements recorded during his tenure, particularly the successful rollout of the Unified Customs Management System for quicker clearing processes, commonly referred to as the B’Odogwu.
Comptroller Anani who was promoted during the latest promotion of officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), called on all customs officers, officials of sister government agencies, and private sector stakeholders to join hands with him in sustaining the command’s great achievements recorded by the outgoing ACG Daniyan. He also emphasised the importance of compliance with customs regulations, stating that it would ensure adherence to regulations, reduce delays, mitigate risks, and foster trust among the trading community. Until his election, Comptroller Anani was the DC Enforcement at the Tincan Island Port Customs Command, Apapa.
The new CAC pledged to strictly enforce the Comptroller General’s zero-tolerance policy for smuggling, and promised to be accessible to all stakeholders. He encouraged the trading community to feel free to interact with him directly or virtually to provide relevant information needed for his success in the assignment.
Stakeholders at the command, including the President of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON), Frank Ogunojemite, and also the Chairman of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents, PTML Chapter, commended the outgoing CAC, ACG Daniyan, for his outstanding performance and leadership in implementing the B’Odogwu and promoting trade facilitation and anti-smuggling efforts.
Earlier in the day, the PTML management had organized a send forth for ACG Daniyan who also got promoted in the last promotion exercise. The send forth was an event where the major stakeholders of the Command and its critical support allies and senior officers poured encomiums on the Daniyan for his resilient pursuit of the success of the B’Odogwu, which pilot scheme started at the PTML Customs Area Command.
