Under civilian dictatorship, Nigeria is gradually fizzling out. Its time of expiration is ticking fast even when the so-called rulers are swimming in fantasy of the absurd.
The reality about Nigeria is that it has never been a country in the real sense of what a real country should be. And it will never be, I’m not a prophet of doom. But it is clear in the eyes of the discerning that no medicine can cure Nigeria until it fizzles out and free those it has held in bondage for many years.
For this reason, Nigeria remains a lie, a killer and a destroyer. The rulers are not mindful of the Nigerian situation simply because it is said that whom the gods want to kill, they first make him mad.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in detention today because of the destructive power of Nigeria. His only offence is that he voiced out that Nigeria can never work, what other options are available to us so that innocent people must stop being destroyed by Nigeria?, Kanu had asked.
But in response, Nigeria hounded him. Who would have believed that after the removal of fuel subsidy in 2023, Nigeria would still be going cap in hand begging for loans?
We were regaled, and hoodwinked into believing that fuel subsidy removal would solve Nigeria’s problems. It was also touted as the remedy for fuel smuggling outside of Nigeria. But what are we seeing today? Borrowing, fuel smuggling and more hardship. Any surprise?
Ours is to continue to unveil all that is wrong with Nigeria, in every edition. We’re not doing that because we want to have a better Nigeria, no, it can never be.
