Chinasa Nwaneri, the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on Special Duties is a rude reminder of the activities of Col. Frank Omenka, former Director of Directorate of Military Intelligence, DMI who was the butcher-in-chief of the late General Sani Abacha military junta that gave opposition blood pressure that sent some to their early graves

Chinasa Nwaneri is not a military personnel like the infamous Col. Frank Omenka who was the Man Friday of late General Sani Abacha during the dark days of the military rule in the country.  The method of Omenka in hounding opposition during the dark era of the military regime in the country is the replica of what infamous Nwaneri has adopted in hounding opposition parties in Imo State.  The words of Nwaneri is law, and attempt at disobeying his words has consequences – in most cases death or injuries that are life threatening.

Ikenga Ugochinyere was a victim of the crude way of Nwaneri for saying no to opposition.  At the wake of Nwaneri fury against Ugochinyere, the country home of the latter was reduced to rubble while his uncle was early packaged to the great beyond, no consequences at the time of filing this report.  Series of complaint by Ugochinyere that his life is under threat as evidenced by the efforts of the attack dog of the Imo State governor, Nwaneri to eliminate Honourable Ugochinyere because he said no to the dictates of the governor, never elicited the attention of the security operatives in the state.  It was gathered that the Commissioner for Police in the state, Mohammed Ahmed Barde had been fingered as aiding and abetting the attack dogs in the state led by Nwaneri at no consequence. The notoriety of Nwaneri allegedly aided by the security operatives in the state gave reason to the agitation by the opposition parties in the state that Federal Government under the watch of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration is happily supervising the making of one party state in the country.

The gory tales of the experiences of Honourable Ugochinyere is still smearing when the almighty Nwaneri bared his fangs recently.  The victim this time around is the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero.  Reports pieced together by Tentacle revealed that the police in Imo under the gleeful watch of Commissioner in the state, Barde, indicated that Ajaero was arrested and handed over to Nwaneri and his killer gang to brutalize.  Information has it that after the brutalization of Comrade Ajaero was completed, the Police in what is seen as face-saving intervention announced that Ajaero was arrested for protective custody.  At the time of the premeditated intervention of the Police, the President of NLC was a living corpse, no thanks to the beating he received from the hands of attackers at the prodding of Nwaneri who is the alter ego of Governor Uzodinma.

NLC and its sister organization, Trade Union Congress, TUC have since started an indefinite industrial action to cause the trial of those responsible for the brutalization of Comrade Ajaero.  The industrial action, according to investigation orchestrated by this medium revealed that the economy has been crippled as consequence.  The indefinite industrial action, according to investigation ignited civil disobedience that prompted Federal Government intervention. It was gathered that the labour unions gave government an ample opportunity to address the injustice meted to the President of NLC for coming to Imo State on official assignment to question the rationale behind owing workers in the state for 42 months.  The attempt of Comrade Ajaero to question why workers in the state are being owed earned him a bed in the hospital no thanks to Nwaneri’s attack dog activities in the state, incarnate of the infamous Col. Omenka of the late Sani Abacha military junta is still prowling the streets of  Owerri, the capital of Imo state free.

However the presidency has carpeted the leaders of labour union for embarking on what it described as selfish industrial action because of the brutalization of the NLC president in Imo State.  According to them, the dehumanization of the Commander-in-Chief of the Labour Movement in the country is not sufficient enough to embark on industrial action that is telling on the fragile economy of the country after two days.

The Labour bodies replied the presidency, reminding it that an injustice to one is an injustice to all, insisting that at the risk of being arrested by the goons of the President Tinubu’s administration nothing would terminate their resolution to continue with the industrial action except the list of demands of the labour bodies are met and seen to have been implemented.

But on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 the Federal Government through the National Security Adviser to President Tinubu, Nuhu Ribadu, announced that Nwaneri and his cohorts have been arrested.  But the check this medium made revealed that there is no evidence to prove the arrest. On the strength of the perceived arrest of the perpetrators of Ajaero’s attack, the labour union has suspended two days old industrial action.
