Except President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his APC allies, in their desperation to continue to hold onto power by hook or crook, decide to eliminate the duo of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso before the January 16 presidential election, all is set for a repeat of the historic 2015 presidential poll at which former President Muhammadu Buhari defeated incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. At the last count, there are empirical evidences to prove that the pairing of Obi and Kwankwaso as presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate respectively, to confront Nigeria’s pseudo emperor, President Tinubu, in the presidential election of 2027, is a done deal.
While Obi will run as the presidential candidate, Kwankwaso will be his running mate. They are yet to choose the best political platform to pitch their tent due to the crisis that is still rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) where they belong, as well as the Atiku Abubakar factor who refuses to give way for a Southern presidential candidate to pick the ADC ticket.
Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida and Jonathan are said to be super forces working behind the scene to ensure that the Obi-Kwankwaso Alliance will rescue Nigeria from the iron claws of the APC and Tinubu. Obasanjo’s presence at the Ibadan, Oyo State summit of the coalition of opposition political parties on Saturday, April 25, 2026, confirmed that the former President was working towards the achievement of the alliance. Obasanjo does not belong to any of the political parties.
The plot to rig the 2027 presidential election, which appears to be the only hope of the Tinubu camp to secure victory for their principal, just as it allegedly happened in the 2023 election, may not work in 2027. This is because the glitches of the INEC server which affected the result of the presidential election in 2023, which saw Tinubu emerge victorious, may not reoccur in the coming election.
Besides, majority of the voters in the Northern parts of the country have vowed that they would never cast their votes for Tinubu because of the hardship and insecurity which are felt more in those regions. Given a credible election, Tinubu would have solid stand only in the South west, his home region. Again, the architects of the Obi-Kwankwaso alliance, it was revealed, are working round the clock to ensure that the INEC cannot have an opportunity to rig the presidential election without orchestrating violence in the country.
