Nemesis catches up with a billionaire spare parts dealer who runs a kidnap ring in Anambra State, other kidnap kingpins in Edo, Rivers and other parts of the country as the law enforcement agents close in on them

Anambra State has become a haven of one day, one bad news as a popular billionaire motor spare parts dealer has been indicted in a kidnapping business at Mgbuka Market in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
Tentacle learnt that Mr. Fabulous as he is popularly called operates a deadly kidnapping gang in a duplex he built for that purpose. His beautiful wife, the sources further disclosed, is aware of his illegal dealings. Both of them live in the massive compound where Fabulous erected a shrine, keeps his kidnapped victims and dismantle all models of stolen cars and sells their parts.
According to reports, there is no types of motor spare parts that Fabulous doesn’t have in his warehouse. He met his waterloo when police track a stolen car to his house. When they arrived, Mr. Fabulous and his boys opened fire on them from the gate. They were just tracking the stolen car only and at the end of the day, he exposed himself because the police people never knew he was using the house for kidnapping. His gang gunned down one police officer, but backup came fast.
The gang jumped out of the fence and disappeared because they ran out of bullets, but the police caught Mr. Fabulous as he tried to escape. They also found no fewer than eight kidnapped victims, one of who is a medical doctor who operates an hospital in Anambra.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Crown Hospital Nkpor was kidnapped recently for which Fabulous demanded N500 million ransom. On learning of his criminal activities, residents of the area set his building and property ablaze. Meanwhile, Anambra State Government has demolished all the buildings in his compound and taken over the area while investigation continues. Fabulous lived fast and is about to die young.
In the same vein, the Edo State Government has been actively demolishing properties linked to kidnappers as part of an aggressive crackdown on insecurity. Since the suspects often operate in multiple locations, the task force has targeted several specific houses across the state. The state’s aggressive action is backed by amended legislation mandating the confiscation and demolition of any property connected to kidnapping.
On March, 2025, the Anti-kidnapping Task Force pulled down the inherited properties of suspected kidnappers, including a notorious suspect, Oboh Odion, after he confessed to N5 million kidnapping operation. Another property was demolished in Eshioriri-Etsako (Owen East) belonging to an informant who supplied food and information to kidnappers in the forest. Again, the state government demolished a residential duplex in Benin city used for kidnappings and organ harvesting. Another high-profile demolition occurred in Aduwawa, Benin City, targeting the residence of key suspect in a multi-abduction ring.
Not yet done, the Edo State Special Security Squad demolished a suspect kidnapper’s den and drug hideout in the Ubiaja area (Esan South-East local Government Area). The property was linked to suspected kingpin Jerry Okoyomo after a raid in Irrua resulted in the arrest of nine suspects.
Another suspect linked to kidnapping in Edo whose mansion were demolished include Abacha Burodo who was arrested in April 2026 by troops in Essan South LGA.
In Rivers State, government agencies supervised the demolition of the home and hideout of a notorious cultist and kidnapper Munachim Ihunwo located in Rumuolumeni Community.
The property reportedly contained a tunnel, a shrine with human skulls and served as an operational base. Tentacle gathered that the demolitions are tied to the Rivers State Kidnap (Prohibition) Amendment Law which was updated to empower the state to seize, confiscate and demolish any property, building or asset proven to be used by or harboring kidnappers and cultists. The demolition of the identified kidnapper king pin house according to authorities is to deter future criminal activity. Meanwhile, a Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has convicted and sentenced to death two twin brothers and five other persons to death by hanging for the kidnap and murder of Reverend Edison Isaiah Sokobo-Harry. Justice Boma Diepiri in a judgment delivered on Monday, 25 May, 2026 found Precious Jack, Opara Answer Dick, Osaki Fubara and Alaboeriya Fubara guilty on multiple counts of conspiracy, kidnapping, murder and illegal possession of firearms.
The convicts were accused of luring the clergyman to a forest in the Abalam community, Asari-Toru LGA in December 6, 2013. They allegedly tied his eyes and hands before killing him and dumping his body in a nearby creek. Justice Diepiri held that the prosecution successfully proved its case against the seven men beyond a reasonable doubt. He subsequently sentenced them to death by hanging, ordering that they be executed by hanging until proven pronounced dead. The case which has lingered for over a decade has brought some closure to the family of the slain reverend.
Similarly, two women suspected of involvement in a kidnapping incident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State were subjected to public humiliation after being stripped naked. The incident captured in a video that has since circulated on line, has reignited debate over jungle justice. According to eyewitness, the women were caught by residents in a community within Port Harcourt after being accused of attempting to kidnap a child. The crowd reportedly intercepted them before they could escape and subjected them to physical assault and public stripping.
The Rivers State Police Command has not released an official statement confirming the incident or the identity of those involved as of press time. It is also unclear if the suspects were handed over to the police or if any formal charges have been filed. Legal experts and human rights groups have condemned the act, stating that assaulting and stripping suspects amount to a criminal offense under Nigerian Law.
The Criminal Code Act and Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, 2015 which is domesticated in Rivers State Prohibits degrading treatment, unlawful restraint and mob violence, regardless of the alleged offense.
A Port Harcourt based lawyer, said, “When citizens resort to jungle justice, they undermine the justice system and risk punishing innocent people” pointing out that kidnapping is a capital offense in Rivers State and carries severe penalties under state law. Police have consistently urged members of the public to report suspected criminals to law enforcement rather than resorting to mob action, noting that jungle justice often destroys evidence and makes prosecution difficult.
