AIG Maritime Visits NPA, Pledges Effective Port Policing, Collaboration

To boost security and combat criminal activities within Nigeria’s ports and the maritime industry, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police for Maritime Command, Garba Musa Yusuf, on Monday, January 20, 2025, led his management team on a maiden courtesy visit to the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) headquarters in Marina Lagos.
 During the meeting with NPA’s management, AIG Yusuf stressed the importance of collaboration and synergy between the Maritime Police Command and the NPA to address the challenges of crime in the port environment.
 While assuring the NPA of the Maritime Police Command’s commitment to ensuring efficient and effective policing of the ports, he stressed the need for constant communication between the Maritime Police Command and NPA’s management to promptly address any criminal elements capable of disrupting operations at the ports.
 A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Okoi Arikpo, states that AIG Yusuf pledged his commitment towards eradicating the clandestine activities of criminals in and around Nigeria’s ports.
The visit marks a significant step toward fostering stronger partnerships and improving security measures across Nigeria’s critical maritime infrastructure.
