Indeed, Nigeria is a strange domain, arguably the strangest country among the comity of nations.
A lot of unspeakable things does happen in the country, and these are abnormal occurrences. The brutal killings, killings, and unrestricted killings that happen daily in Nigeria unchallenged, are a thing of concern.
Imagine a situation where the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and the ever-dreaded Boko Haram insurgents sack military bases on weekly basis?
In these attacks unaccountable lives have been lost, both military personnel and civilians. Annoyingly, the political class and elite in whose hands lies the very wealth of the country, still engage in politics of 2027, as if all is well.
Instructively, war experts and security analysts have been alerting these heartless political elements to effect that the doomsday is beckoning, a day they may not have any country to hold to ransom anymore. It’s quite sure that most frustrated citizens are earnestly longing for that day when politicians will scamper for their safety, when their security guards cannot save them.
The warning is simple: Insecurity will destabilize Nigeria one day. He who has ears, let them hear. Outside the worrisome insecurity, some Federal Government agencies appear to have been performing credibly in the midst of the unending chaos. One of such agencies is the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) where its current management has introduced laudable reforms that are taking the agency out of the doldrums.
The current leadership of the NPA under the watch of Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, has proved that credible leadership can be obtained from leaders when they choose to be committed to that course.
