An aspirant for Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, Honorable Queen Chinyere Tim-Opurum tours local government areas ahead of the All Progressives Congress primaries

The Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency of Imo State was agog on Wednesday, May 12, 2026 as philanthropist frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives, Mrs. Queen Chinyere Tim-Opurum, visited the four local government areas that make up the constituency ahead of the forthcoming primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the tour, women and youths, critical stakeholders of the APC, various support groups trooped out in the different local government areas in their numbers to welcome her. Most of the women supporters carrying placards with various inscriptions such as, “Queen Chinyere Opurum is a promise keeper  and a better leader,” “We must take our destiny in our hands by supporting women with good track records who are ready to bring positive change,” “This time around, we must change the narrative because change is inevitable” and “Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency deserves better representation, while chanting solidarity songs in her support.

Speaking during the events held in the various local government areas under the constituency, Chinyere Tim-Oprum stated that the purpose of her visit was to solicit support for her ambition to represent them at the Federal level to bring democracy to the communities that made up the constituency.

She promised effective representation if elected as a lawmaker by ensuring that they will be beneficiaries of the dividends of democracy, which had eluded them for so long and also reminded them that through her selfless efforts and with her personal resources, several residents of Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency had benefited from her philanthropic gestures and foundation without government support.

The aspirant pointed out that she had rendered humanitarian services to many people within the constituency, especially the less privileged, through poverty alleviation programmes, healthcare delivery, human empowerment initiatives, scholarships, and other interventions.

Furthermore, she stated that her legislative priorities would include sponsoring and supporting bills that will directly improve the welfare of constituents, advocating for laws that promote economic inclusion, job creation, and social protection. She however assured that every of her legislative action will surely reflect on the need of the people of Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency.

Chinyere stressed that her main focus would be on women and gender inclusion, youth development and employment, agriculture and rural development policies, education reforms and accessibility, as well as effective oversight and accountability.

Speaking further, she reaffirmed her willingness to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to translate grassroots realities into effective laws and policies that would benefit both the constituency and the nation at large.

She commended the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his developmental projects across the state in terms of road development and other social amenities for the welfare of the masses.

In their respective remarks, the APC Chairman of Njaba Council, Chief Chukwudi Egenuka; the APC Chairman of Isu Council, Chris Ibeh; and their Nkwerre counterpart, Ugochukwu Ibekwe, assured her of the party’s support and encouragement to succeed in the primary election and the general election.

Also speaking, the Women Leader of Isu Local Government Area, Mrs. Mercy Njoku, lent her voice saying that the women were solidly behind Chinyere Tim-Oprum and expressed confidence that she would perform well if elected into the Federal House of Representatives come 2027.
